The European Commission has published on its website the new guidelines for the 2014 / 68 / UE PED Directive and the new guidelines for the 2016 / 29 / UE SPVD Directive. The new documents were approved at the 13 September Working Group Pressure (WGP) meeting.

For the purposes of Community law, the pumps for liquids of any type, are considered machines and as such are subject to the requirements of Directive 2006 / 42 / CE.
The electric pumps (and especially those intended to use in domestic or similar environments), are also to be considered as electrical devices intended to be used at low voltages, and therefore subject to the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2014 / 35 / EU.
