Marco Ferlito was elected, for the next two years, President of the Slicers, Meat Grinders and Affini sector. The sector is internal to Assofoodtec, the Italian Association of Machinery, Plant, Food Production, Processing and Food Conservation, federated ANIMA Confindustria. A sector that in the 2018 has recorded, according to the data processed by the ANIMA Studies Office, 228 million of turnover and 140 million of export.
"Our sector advances through innovation and a continuous ability to invest. The data bear witness to this, given that the 2019 expects an increase equal to + 6,8% of investments", declared the newly elected Ferlito. "The 4.0 has been able to suggest the direction to the Country System. We need to be able to proceed along the path taken because if the manufacturing companies grow then the availability of employment and the development of connected supply chains can also grow".
Born in Ivrea in the 1970 he graduated from the Turin Polytechnic in aerospace engineering. He is hired by a company of the Olivetti group to design the first industrial applications of lasers and works on the first patent for the construction and application of cellular plates. It then accepts new professional challenges in production contexts in the automotive world. He then moved on to Facem, where 16 has been working for years (TRE SPADE is the historic brand), holding positions with increasing responsibility over time, up to the current General Management of the FoodTech Division. In these years Facem has focused on growth to remain competitive on a global level (exports 70% of turnover to all continents). In the 2014 he won the Compasso d'Oro award for the Takaje project. "Facem's participation in Assofoodtec was a stimulus and a reason for further growth because it allowed the comparison with the best companies in this sector, sharing objectives and promoting knowledge", says the newly elected President, Marco Ferlito.
