The Ministry of Economic Development has launched a new intervention for the facilitation of industrial research and experimental development (R & D) projects in the application sectors of the National Smart Specialization Strategy related to Smart Factory, Agrifood and Life Sciences.
Overall, 562,1 million are available.
The resources will be destined as:
- by territory: 287,6 million euro to the less developed regions (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia and Sicily); 100 million euro to transition regions (Abruzzo, Molise and Sardinia); 175,1 millions of euros to the remaining regions.
- by application sector: 225,1 million euros to the "Smart Factory" sector; 225,1 million euros to the "Agrifood" sector; 112,5 millions of euros in the "Life Sciences" sector
- by procedure: 395,7 million euro for the negotiation procedure, 167,0 million for the counter procedure.
The incentives can be granted in the form of the contribution to expenditure and subsidized financing, in a manner consistent with the limits set by Regulation (EU) no. 651 / 2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market.
Eligible subjects are companies of any size that carry out industrial, agro-industrial, artisan, industry services (activities under Article 2195 of the Civil Code, nos. 1, 3 and 5), and research centers. For the joint projects alone (up to three, for the counter procedure and up to five for the negotiation procedure), also the Research Bodies and, for the projects in the "Agrifood" application sector, also the agricultural enterprises.
With a subsequent directorial decree, the deadline will be opened for the presentation of applications and the definition, among other things, of the relative models and criteria for evaluating projects.
