In previsione un aumento del 20% dell'Export

The European Parliament, meeting in plenary session in Strasbourg on February 15, approved the CETA - the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement - A major trade agreement between Canada and the European Union. The CETA will have to be ratified by the parliament of each member state, but in its fundamental parts will come into force as early as April.

CETA is the most important international trade agreement since NAFTA, the free trade agreement signed by the United States, Mexico and Canada in 1992: was signed at the end of negotiations lasting 5 years, from the 2009 2014.

The ratification was celebrated by the official visit of the Canadian Prime Minister to Parliament Justin Trudeau.

One of its main effects will be the'Elimination of the majority of tariffs between the EU and Canada, But the treaty also contains many other provisions.

For example, it allows European companies to participate in tendering for public contracts in Canada and viceversa.

They establish the mutual recognition of professional qualifications and new rules to protect copyright and patents.

It should be noted that in the 2015 exports from the European Union to Canada have had a value of 35,2 billion, and that when the agreement is fully operational this figure should increase by more than 20 per cent.
