Third countries anti-dumping measures against the EU: Mexico (steel sheets from Italy)

THE'Anti-Dumping Office of the Ministry of Economic Development (DG International Trade Policy - Division III) informs you that you have received our report from our Embassy Mexico City about starting a 'anti-dumping investigation against imports of steel sheets from Italy at the request of Mexican company Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA).

According to information provided by the Embassy, interested parties may submit comments within 28 working days of the publication of the decision (considered the Christmas break, the deadline would be 10 January 2018). Subsequently, AHMSA will have 8 days to respond. After receiving the parties' comments, the Secretaria de Economia has 90 days to make a decision (or possibly start further investigations). Meanwhile, temporary measures could be imposed. It should be noted that in the event of the adoption of anti-dumping measures, the duty applied to cooperating exporters is generally lower or, in any case, not higher than the duty applied to non-cooperating exporters.
