The Anti-dumping Office of Ministry of Economic Development (DG for international trade policy - Division III) released the following information:
1) EGYPT - Regarding the start of the Safeguarding of Egypt towards import erga omnes of some iron and steel products (ref. Our communication of 8.04.2019), the European Commission communicates the notification of a public hearing of the Egyptian authorities to be held on June 26 pv Attached any useful information for a possible participation in the hearing, for which the presence of the Commission in representation of the interests of the EU will be assured.
2) CANADA - Attached is the note of the EU Commission and related documentation regarding the adoption by the Canadian authorities of a quota system in the process of Safeguarding erga omnes imports of certain types of iron and steel products (ref. Our communication of 16.10.2018). The system concerns 2 of the 7 products under investigation; for the remaining 5 there are no Safeguard measures at present. In addition to the procedure for issuing import licenses, the Commission also attaches a document relating to the initiation of an investigation to verify possible exclusions of by-products contained in the 2 categories subject to quota, if they are not produced in Canada.
