The Offshore Mediterranean Conference and Exibition (OMC) was founded in Ravenna in 1993 on the initiative of the Chamber of Commerce of Ravenna, Assomineraria and the Association of Offshore Operators (ROCA),
with the aim of creating an arena of confrontation for the Italian, European and international energy industry.
With the passing of the years, the OMC becomes the most important international event on the most important oil & gas in the Mediterranean basin and celebrates its first 20 years of activity in the 2013 edition.
The 2017 edition of OMC confirms the international relevance of the event with the participation of the Ministers of 6 Countries (Italy, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Iraq, Lebanon), as well as CEO, executives, researchers, consultants of the energy industry.
OMC is not born in Ravenna by chance. After the discovery of deposits in the 50 years, the city established itself as a solid oil district and as a natural meeting point between two large continents (Europe and Africa) confirming the role
of Italy as a bridgehead in the flow of energy that passes through the Mediterranean from southern producing countries to northern consumers.
Proof of this is the presence at WTO of all the major European oil companies in North Africa and the Middle East.
From 2017 ANIMA Confindustria participates with a group of companies that in2019 edition will be expanded and strengthened by the presence of an ITA-ICE Agency area specifically dedicated to international business and corporate b2b.
