The new obligation of energy labeling starting from 1 March 2021 will also involve refrigeration appliances with direct sales function in physical and online stores.
The objective of the ASSOCOLD workshop, organized in Milan on 25 June, is to inform companies and provide simplified information to buyers, encouraging them to evaluate the operating costs of each equipment and, with the same technical characteristics, helping them to choose the lower energy consumption technologies. The Ecodesign energy classification will actually create a selection of products available on the market according to their energy performance.
Related to this obligation, the European Commission has set up a European product database, EPREL (European Product Registry for Energy Labeling).
ASSOCOLD, within ANIMA Confindustria Meccanica Varia, represents the technological evolution of plants and equipment in the world of refrigeration, in particular promotes and protects refrigeration compressors, refrigeration equipment for trade and industrial refrigeration systems. The association also supports the training of operators with technical courses and other initiatives on how to fill in the European EPREL database.
