As a member of ANIMA Confindustria, UNAC promotes and protects the collective interests of the industry and serves as a hub for companies to connect, obtain information, and receive support. The sector employs over 1,260 people and has an export share exceeding 70%.
We analyze technical and regulatory issues affecting companies in the sector and advocate for product certification standards.
Through our experts, we actively participate in standardization work at both the national (UNI, CEI) and European (CEN, CENELEC) levels and play a central role in drafting the reference product standards for the sector.
We chair WG 5 ‘Industrial, commercial and garage doors and gates’ of CEN Technical Committee 33 ‘Doors, windows, shutters, building hardware and curtain walling’ and WG 9 ‘Powered Pedestrian Doors (PPD)’.
Through the ANIMA Federation, we maintain a constant relationship with the task forces of ORGALIM — the European Federation representing 34 trade associations comprising companies in the mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, and metal goods sectors across 22 European countries—which specifically monitor all aspects related to the impact of legislative provisions on products.
Thanks to UNAC’s contribution, significant regulatory achievements have been made that have aimed to mandate higher levels of product safety and quality, not least the well-known EN 16005.
