This is achieved by providing a "common technical language" that offers uniform methods for assessing product performance. These methods are included in specific harmonized European standards (hENs) as well as in European Assessment Documents (EADs).
This common technical language must be applied:
- by manufacturers, when declaring the performance of their products, and by Member State authorities
- and by users (designers, builders, etc.), when selecting the most suitable products for their intended use
CPR Regulation has been in force since 1 July 2013.
