Europump members represent more than 450 companies with a collective production value of more than €10 billion and over 100,000 employees in Europe.
Pump manufacturing is a growth sector driven by small and medium-sized enterprises. With almost half of all world exports and 40% of all major patent applications, the Euro-Western pump industry is the economic, commercial and technological leader in the sector.
Europump is an associate member of Orgalime, the European Federation of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic and Metalworking Industries.
Technical Commission
Dealing with technical issues, this Commission has played a key role in Europump since its foundation and has produced a diverse range of technical publications for the industry. Current main areas of interest are the energy efficiency of pumping systems and the environmental impact of pumps throughout the product life cycle.
Marketing Commission
The Commission coordinates the provision of market data of interest to the industry, lobbies EU statistical organisations (Eurostat) for meaningful industry data (e.g. PRODCOM), tackles product counterfeiting on the market and promotes the European pump industry to legislative and regulatory bodies.
Standards Commission
The Technical Committee provides support for the preparation of technical standards of interest to the industry and assists in the process of harmonising existing standards. Its work today focuses on the development of standards and regulations of interest to the industry such as the ErP (Energy Related Products) Directive and the New Machinery Directive.
SME Network Commission
Established in 1998, this Commission is especially aimed at small/medium sized pump manufacturers and provides a platform where participants can exchange ideas, views and experiences on pump-related issues.
