The Protocol is a voluntary initiative of Assotermica member companies (and also extended to non-members) to monitor boilers placed on the national market in accordance with the Energy Labelling and Eco-design Regulations (reg. 811/2013, 813/2013).
The initiative aims to support the sector in a delicate phase of transition towards energy-efficient appliances and systems with the objective of:
- trace alleged non-compliances of gas heating appliances (boilers) marketed throughout the country
- inform the supply chain and the end user about the importance of energy labelling and the compliance of products with all legislative requirements for eco-design
- raise awareness and support the authorities in charge of controls in their market surveillance activities
