ASME IWG ITALIA

The ASME International Working Group Project for the pressure equipment sector is active, through direct collaboration with ASME, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Giovanni Zimello, Alfa Laval, tells how participation in the Asme working groups has allowed a modification of the Asme Code to the benefit of the entire sector.

ASME sees UCC Association as a point of reference for the pressure equipment industry in Italy and considers the opportunity to bring together the best pressure equipment experts in the Italian panorama to be fundamental with the aim of sharing their experience within the group.

The result of these comparisons may be transmitted to the Asme Standards Committee on Pressure Vessels in the form of a proposal for revision of the relevant Section of the Asme Code.

The procedures for joining the ASME IWG ITALIA Working Groups can be downloaded and in particular the activities related to Section VIII (Rules for Construction of Pressure Equipment) and Section IX (Welding, Brazing, and Fusing Qualifications) and Section V (Nondestructive Examination) of the ASME Code.

The UCC secretariat is available for any information.
