Guidelines for the correct maintenance of fire prevention systems

The Guideline is a support that can be used by Fire Maintenance Companies, Clients, Safety Officers, Professional Associations and Control Bodies.

The fire protection systems covered are the following:

  • Smoke detection
  • Sprinkler and pumping station extinguishers
  • Foam and pumping station extinguishers
  • Inert gas and chemical synthesis extinguishers
  • Water mist extinguishers
  • Water deluge extinguishers and cooling
  • Aerosol extinguishers
  • Dry powder extinguishers
  • Explosive atmosphere detection
  • Hydrant networks and pumping stations.

For each system, this section explores:

  • the applicable technical standard
  • the phases and frequency of inspections
  • the required inspection operations
  • the required documentation that the Client must provide to the Maintenance Company
  • the indicative documentation that the Maintenance Company must provide to the Client and the Certifier, confirming the correct execution of the work
  • the equipment available on the market that can facilitate maintenance operations.
